Exquisite Black Tea from Guangxi

Guangxi is located in the south of China on the border with Vietnam. In 1958, it became an autonomous region of the People's Republic of China, a region with special privileges for the Zhuang people. Guangxi is considered the home of the Chinese jasmine.

The tea garden is located in Guangxi province in the southern part of China. The altitude of the tea garden is around 1000 metres and is considered a highland tea garden, which is characterised by large temperature differences between day and night. These growing conditions are reflected in a particularly expressive flavour density.

Which tea cultivars were used for the tea?

Da Bai Hao - a particularly large-leafed variety with lush buds, which is also used for Yin Zhen.

What makes this tea so special?

Golden Da Bai Hao consists exclusively of thick, golden buds. Like Yin Zhen, these buds also have many hairs called trichomes. They serve to regulate the temperature and protect the young leaf from too much sunlight. Due to the processing into black tea, the flavour is very delicate and has a long-lasting aroma. The appearance and cup are golden yellow, with a distinct honey flavour, and the taste is fresh, sweet and full-bodied.

Tea-Taster preparation recommendation for this tea

Boil the water and pour it over the tea leaves, but do not leave them to infuse for too long. The best way to prepare this tea is to pour boiling water over it quickly and brew it several times in succession to taste the differences between the various infusions.
