Preparation

12 g tea leaves (5 heaped Tealamass) to 1 liter of filtered water, boiled and cooled to 80°C / 176°F (let water cool for about 10 min. after boiling). Allow to brew 1.5 min.

Traditionally, pan-roasted tea is only produced in a few gardens on the island of Kyûshû in Japan. This Kamairicha is grown in the Gokase region and impresses with a lively cup with fine roasted flavours. It is not without reason that the processing method is reminiscent of teas from China. The inhabitants of the island of Kyûshû have always traded a lot with China due to its proximity to the mainland. This influence can also be seen in other parts of the regional culture.
